Expressing Yourself Through Blogs
Growing up as a socially withdrawn child with virtually no self esteem, writing was one of the few outlets I had to express myself. I spent many hours writing along with my brother Rick, about neighborhood happenings and immortalizing the many neighborhood characters through our publication 'Burn'. I also would write scripts of some of the popular T.V. shows back then such as 'Chico and the Man'. Having just recently revisited some of those writings, I was amazed at the quality of the writings of a then 14 year old boy.
Unfortunately, not having a mentor or someone to offer me direction, my writing talent was never developed and other than an occasional entry into a journal, lay dormant for many years. Although I've always known that I've had a desire to write and get my thoughts down on paper, worldly concerns such as working and family and the routine that they entail had extinguished my creative juices for many years. Recently however, I've discovered something online called 'blogging' that has me once again yearning to write and has made me realize just how much I've missed expressing myself through words.
If you're reading this article, you are probably familiar with Blogging, and know how popular its become. Just about everyone these days has one, and you can find information on literally any topic or subject that you can think of. Blogging can be a journal, diary, newspaper, almost anything that you want to be. For me, it's been a godsend in allowing me to unleash my creative juices. Since I've started blogging, ideas just seem to jump out at me from the simplest things. In fact, I sometimes have so many ideas pop into my head, that I have to write them down so that I don't forget them.
Yes, blogging has been the means of my renewed desire to write. How about yourself? Do you take the time to express yourself? We all have something to say, and blogging is the new great way to do it. It's fascinating to think that a blog that you write today will be read by someone on the other side of the world..today. If you haven't started blogging, why not? The world is waiting to hear what you have to say!
